Fifth Region

Lucas Kwok’s Fifth Region is a speculative spatial narrative. Positing new region in the air above Hong Kong 2060, as city below has become too crowded to live in. At time when previously scripted futures of this are currently being hastily re-written, presents an allegorical parable, critique overpopulation, density and government control land, well imaginary vision utopia escaping below. project works on two scales: first reveals megastructures that tower over below, second focuses everyday imagine future lives, events within clouds.
